VSA arts is seeking submissions from innovative, experimental artists with disabilities whose work demonstrates the creative fusion of visual art with interactive or sensory experience; communication and information technologies; movement or performance; and/ or audio production. Applicants from a wide range of practices, such as digital arts, installation, and time-based media, are encouraged to apply. There is no fee.
Open to international artists, ages 18 and over, who are committed to their artistic progress and who have a physical, cognitive, or mental disability. The theme challenges artists to consider the concept of renascence which signals a rebirth of the senses, a revival of culture. Work will be presented from April-June 2007 in several venues throughout Washington, D.C., including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Visit www.vsarts.org/renascence for additional information and entry instructions or contact Jennifer Colaguori, visual arts coordinator, at jenniferc@vsarts.org or 800-933-8721 ext. 3885. The call is available online in French, Spanish, German, Arabic, and Japanese.
