The 2008 Palestine Film Festival in London will open in April 2008 at London’s Barbican Arts Centre. The festival, the largest of its kind in the world, showcases an engaging selection of feature films, shorts, experimental work, animations, and documentaries of social, cultural and political themes related to Palestine. The Palestine Film Foundation invites filmmakers from all over the world to participate in the 2008 festival. Films are selected on the basis of cinematic quality, the film’s contribution to a diverse festival in terms of issues and ideologies, and cinematic styles and genres. The program features both new and older films. As the Festival will run during the 60th anniversary of the Nakba, films relating to the refugee issue and the Palestinian Nakba are of particular interest.
Submission deadline is 7th December 2007.
